In Vladivostok, a personal exhibition of Nikas Safronov “Winter. Painting. Optimism”
In Bolshoi GUM (33 Svetlanskaya St., 3 floor) a personal exhibition of the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Professor Nikas Safronov opened “Winter. Painting. Optimism”. The exhibition, which includes about a hundred paintings, will run until February 24.
Nikas Safronov can be called one of the most famous Russian painters of our time. According to the All-Russian Center for Public Opinion Research “LEVADA CENTER”, today Nikas Safronov is among the ten best contemporary artists in the world.
The main part of Nikas Safronov’s works is in private collections and museums of many countries of the world. Vladivostok audience will see the largest collection of paintings by the famous Russian artist, which is currently on display at the exhibition. The exposition will acquaint you with the various periods of the maestro’s creativity, it presents about 100 paintings and graphic works created in the period from the late 1990s. until now. These are works of various genres: landscapes, still lifes, portraits, narrative surrealistic compositions (among the latter are canvases in the unique author’s style “Dream Vision”).
Viewers will appreciate the mastery of Safronov the portrait painter. The portraits of Leonardo DiCaprio, Nicole Kidman, Madonna, Philip Kirkorov, English Queen Elizabeth II, several self-portraits are exhibited.
The architectural landscapes of Nikas, which are also represented at the exhibition, are always imbued with a secret, spirit of the epoch, imprinted in stone castles, vaulted ceilings, labyrinths of steps, and pointed domes of towers.
The artist’s works are built on the finest associations, they are distinguished by elegant lightness, inviting space and spirituality. In the pictures there is a roll call of eras, the author tries to capture in them the elusive essence of his visions and dreams.
Possessing tremendous imagination and energy and acting in a wide range of artistic tastes, Nikas Safronov is in constant creative search. All this allowed him to win interest and recognition not only the general public, but also experts and connoisseurs of art.

Nikolay (Nikas) Stepanovich SAFRONOV
1956, April 8 – born in Ulyanovsk.
1973 – 1975 – studied painting at the Grekov Art School in Rostov-on-Don.
1978 – 1982 – studied in Vilnius at the State Art Institute of the Lithuanian SSR (now the Academy of Arts) at the faculty of design.
Since 1978 – an active participant in art exhibitions.
Since 1983 he has been living and working in Moscow. He was art director, and later – the chief artist of the Russian edition of Penthouse magazine, consultant and designer of the Aura-Zet scientific magazine, Diplomat magazine and World of Stars.
1995 – personal exhibition in Istanbul (Republic of Turkey).
1996 – personal exhibitions: Academy of Arts in Moscow (Russian Federation), Mark Shagal Museum in Vitebsk (Belarus), Bergamo (Italian Republic), Toronto (Canada), Rome (Italian Republic), Zurich (Swiss Confederation), New York (United States of America), Sochi (Russian Federation), Riga (Latvian Republic), St. Petersburg (Russian Federation) and other cities of the world.
Nikas Safronov is a professor at Ulyanovsk University (a branch of Moscow State University named after MV Lomonosov).
Awarded the Gold Medal of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Awarded the Order “Service to Art” I degree (“Golden Star”).
Awarded the title of “Knight of Science and Arts” of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
2004 – The Cambridge International Biographical Center named Nikas Safronov “The Best International Artist of 2004” and awarded him the honorary title “Living Legend”.
2005 – the name of the artist appears in the World Book of Knowledge, for outstanding contribution to contemporary art, Nikas is awarded the “Da Vinci Diamond”.
