MORE THAN 200 THOUSAND TOURISTS VISITED WINTER RESORTS OF PRIMORYE

In the New Year holidays Primorye bases for winter holiday were visited by more than 220 thousand people. This was announced by the director of the regional tourism department Konstantin Shestakov.

According to the department head, the New Year's holidays for the tourist industry have been on the rise of the demand for tourism products in the region: the winter resorts of Primorye visited more than 220 thousand visitors.

 "The major share in this volume are citizens of the Russian Federation, residents of other regions of the country, but there are tourists from abroad among the guests. According to the hotel reservation service, Vladivostok entered the top three most popular cities of Russia for foreign tourists", - he added.

Winter holidays - the best time to feel extreme. In the Primorsky Territory there are more than 10 ski resorts, TOP 5 most visited includes the center of winter recreation "Comet" in Vladivostok, ski resort "Gribanovka" in the village Anisimovka of Shkotovsky district, the center of winter sports "Blue Hill" in Artem, ski bases "Bodrost" in Arsenyev and "Orlinaya" in the settlement Shtykovo, noted the director of the department.

In addition, a point of attraction for tourists in the region became the Primorye Oceanarium, hotel and entertainment complex Tigre de Cristal in the integrated zone "Primorye", Safari Park and the Art Park "Shtykovskie ponds", accepted a large number of guests.

Another highlight of this winter was the opening of the winter residence of the Russian Santa Claus in the park "Emerald Valley" in Primorye, stressed Konstantin Shestakov. Event tourism makes Primorye weekdays bright and saturated, attracting tens of thousands of tourists to the region.

Note Primorye in 2016 was visited by about three million tourists, more than 570 thousand of them - foreigners. Experts predict that the number of visitors from other countries in the Primorye region will increase significantly with the introduction of a simplified visa regime in the territory of the Free Port of Vladivostok. This bill has already been passed by the State Duma in the first reading.
