The Primorsky Stage of The Mariinsky Theatre is happy to announce that the IV International Far Eastern Festival “Mariinsky” will be held in Vladivostok, Ussuriisk, and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk from 24 July to 9 August 2019.
On The Primorsky Stage of The Mariinsky Theatre, several operas and ballet shows will be performed during the festival. Among them: “Enchantress” by Petr Chaikovsky, “ Lucia di Lammermoor” by Gaetano Donizetti directed by Andrea de Rose, “Parsifal” by Richard Wagner directed by Tony Palmer; “The Bronze Horseman” ballet by Rheingold Gleer in choreography by Rostislav Zakharov and Yury Smekalov, “Sylvia” ballet in choreography by Frederick Ashton with music by Leo Delibes.
The opera and ballet celebrities will participate in the festival. Among them: Elena Stikhina, Yulia Matochkina, Mikhail Vekua, Alexey Markov, Evgeny Nikitin, Yury Vorobiev, Sergey Skorokhodov, Vladislav Sulimsky, Stanislav Trofimov; Kimin Kim, Vladimir Shklyarov, Renata Shakirova, Nadezhda Batoeva, Alexander Sergeev, and etc.
In addition to outstanding conductors and musicians, including Valery Gergiev, Lorenz Nasturika-Gershovichi (violin, Germany), Canon Matsuda (piano, Japan), the concerts of The Chinese Philharmonic Orchestra played with a conductor Lun Yu will also take place on the festival.
In the run-up to the festival, there will be a solo concert of the Laureate of XV International Competition named after Petr Chaikovsky, and just a famous pianist Luke Debarge (France).
The “Mariinsky” Festival was held for the first time in 2016 initiated by maestro Valery Gergiev. The event became the most significant cultural event not only in the Far Eastern Federal District but also in the all Asia-Pacific region.
In view of its cultural values, the festival attracts a significant number of tourists, including foreign ones every year.
