The meeting of the organizing committee for the preparation of the next, fourth Pacific Tourist Forum took place in Moscow. Experts under the leadership of the head of the Federal Agency for Tourism of Russia Oleg Safonov have determined the list of events that will be held in Primorye within the framework of the PTF from 17 to 20 of May.

The meeting was attended by employees of the Department of Tourism of the Primorskiy Territoru, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia, the Association “Tourist Support”, the Far Eastern Federal University, as well as representatives of the Far Eastern regions.

It is approved that the program of the forum organized by the regional tourism department with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Russia will traditionally consist of three blocks: the business program, the XXII professional tourist exhibition PITE and the festival the “Traveller’s Day”.

The business part of PTF-2018 will last three days - from 17 to 19 of May, and in addition to the 11th Meeting of the Expanded Tumen Initiative and the plenary session devoted to the development of maritime tourism, it will include thematic sections on gastronomic and event tourism, a round table, seminars and master classes with the participation of recognized experts of the Russian tourism industry. Separately, the Youth International Tourist Congress will be integrated into the program of the PTF.

“Another important topic to be discussed by representatives of the tourism sector of the Far East during the business part of the PTF will be the promotion of the interregional project “The Eastern Ring of Russia”, which unites the tourist potential of 12 Far Eastern and Siberian territories,” - the Primorskiy Territory Tourism Department reported.

During the meeting of the organizing committee, the head of Rostourism emphasized the importance of the tourist brand for the development of each of the areas included in the project. According to him, the development of the “Eastern Ring” will contribute to the growth of competitiveness of the regions as tourist destinations, will affect the increase in the tourist flow and, as a result, will have a positive impact on the social and economic development of the Far Eastern and Siberian territories.

As the director of Primorye Tourism Department Konstantin Shestakov recalled, at present six routes linking Primorye with Kamchatka, Sakhalin, Sakha (Yakutia) and other territories have been developed within the project.

Also within the framework of the meeting it was confirmed that the XXII Professional Tourist Exhibition will be held in FEFU May, 18-20. Everyone will have an opportunity to get acquainted with the most interesting tours, developed by operators from the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.

In addition, on the same dates on the FEFU Quay and Vladivostok State University, for all residents and guests of Primorye the city holiday “The Traveller’s Day” will be organized.

Following the meeting, Oleg Safonov stressed that the Pacific Tourism Forum has proved to be an effective professional platform for the development of dialogue and the creation of a stable platform for cooperation and integration of competitive tourist advantages of the Far Eastern and Siberian regions.

We remind that last year the Third Pacific Tourist Forum also took place on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University and united three event blocks: the business program, the 21st PITE professional tourist exhibition and the Traveller’s Day festival. Separate events took place in the framework of the exhibition of yachting sports and recreation Vladivostok Boat Show in the bay of Fedorov. Several tens of thousands of people became guests and participants of the third PTF.
